Request
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like:
(1) The total number of fly-tipping incidents reported in 2023-24 in the Herefordshire Council.
(2) A list of the top 5-10 fly-tipping hotspot locations (street names or postcodes).
(3) Current enforcement measures (CCTV, patrols) and annual budget for fly-tipping clean-up/enforcement in 2023-24. If any information is exempt, please provide reasons and advise on the availability of redacted data.
Response
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like:
(1) The total number of fly-tipping incidents reported in 2023-24 in the Herefordshire Council.
Answer: The Service Area have advised there were 984 fly-tipping incidents reported in 2023-24.
(2) A list of the top 5-10 fly-tipping hotspot locations (street names or postcodes).
Answer: The Service Area have advised the top 10 hotspot locations for fly-tipping in 2023-24 were as follows:
· Tidnor Lane A438 To C1144
· Watery Lane
· Quarry Close
· Cheaton Close
· Holmer Street
· C1221 From B4349 To C1222 Via Kingstone
· Station Street
· Kings Acre Road
· B4348 From A465 To C1228 Haywood Road
· Eunice Saunders Way
(3) Current enforcement measures (CCTV, patrols) and annual budget for fly-tipping clean-up/enforcement in 2023-24.
Answer: The Service Area have advised current enforcement measures include the use of CCTV, Anti Fly-Tipping Posters, patrols and the use of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs).
Unfortunately, due to having a number of teams and job types (e.g. street sweeping, bin emptying, etc.) under the same budget, it is not possible to give an accurate annual budget figure for purely fly-tipping collections or fly-tipping controls.
