Response

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from Herefordshire County Council. Please may you provide me with:

1. Amount of funds (in £) spent in the financial year 2021/2022 on employability support services for young people (aged 16-24) with a learning disability and/or autism.

Herefordshire Council does not have an employability support service for young people (aged 16 to 24) with learning disabilities and/or autism. However, other areas in the Local Enterprise Partnership have their own teams i.e. Telford Council or commission out such as Enable, Shropshire Council.

2. The names of the top four providers of employability support services for young people (aged 16-24) with a learning disability and/or autism by funding received in the financial year 2021/2022.

Not funded by Herefordshire Council, however there were the following local programmes that we joint commissioned working with the LEP utilising ESF funding:

Landau Ltd - ESF funded Building Better Opportunities and In2 programmes

Building Better Opportunities programme details can be found here BBO Herefordshire - Changing Lives Across Herefordshire | Landau

The In2 programme is focused on 15-24 year-old young people not in education, training or employment. The overall aim of the programme is to promote economic and social inclusion which seeks to achieve the sustainable integration of young people into the labour market.

It is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) with match funding provided via the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). It offers a personalised approach for participants to gain control of their lives and overcome their barriers so they can begin to pursue the most effective pathway into employment, education or training.

Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Service (HVOSS)

Step IN2 is the HVOSS part of the Landau led IN2 Partnership. The HVOSS Step IN2 programme started in July 2019. It is aimed at supporting 18-24-year olds wanting to become active and develop their lives with a particularly focus on young people with a variety of challenges and barriers to employment. These include mental ill health, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and /or autism.

Reed In Partnership - DWP funded employment support programme.
