Elective Home Education and Channel Cases

Case reference FOI2026/00674

Received 17 March 2026

Published 9 April 2026

Request

Whether the council is aware of any cases since 1 January 2015 in which a child who was being electively home educated was discussed at the Channel panel.

If it is not possible to confirm this for the full period without exceeding the cost limit, I would be grateful if you could consider a shorter recent period (for example, the last 5 years), or alternatively confirm whether the authority holds any recorded information indicating that elective home education has been identified as a factor in any Channel case.
