Request
I wish to make a formal request under the Freedom of Information Act to obtain information for school cluster groups/federations/consortia/MAT's including if available, the cluster chairs that are within each group in your local authority.
Please advise the following information please:
- The name of each cluster group/federation/consortia/MAT, how many schools are comprised within them, and the school names.
- Contact information for the cluster chairs or coordinators. Failing that, the name of the lead school.
- The name and contact details of the Local Education Officer

The user can then select to download data in a number of ways.
The downloads option will permit the user to access data on specific types of establishment (open academies and free schools, state-funded schools, children centres) or establishment groups as well as data on Governors.
Alternatively, if the user is specifically looking at specific local authorities they can click on "Search for establishments" and then select "Local authority" and select
Next "Download these search results"
Click "Full set of data"
Once the data has downloaded in the chosen format (CSV or Excel), the data will contain all the educational establishment within the LA. It specifies the type of establishment along with a flag where the school is part of a trust and the name of the trust. Where the academy is linked to a sponsor, this is also referenced.
The Headteacher, school address, website and telephone number are also part of the downloaded data.
As such we consider this information to be exempt under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 because it is reasonably accessible to you via other means. Please take this letter as a refusal notice under S17 of the Act.
Regarding question c, Herefordshire Council does not have a Local Education Officer.
