2. How much local authority funding (with figures) has there been for Young Carer activities and/or short breaks in your area each year for the last three financial years?
Answer: Not applicable – There is no funding available.
3. How many youth club sessions and/or activities, short breaks or trips for Young Carers are provided in your area? How many of these are fully or partially funded by the council?
Answer: Herefordshire Young and Young Adult Carers CIC provides the young carers clubs within Herefordshire.
These are 2 separate groups offering fortnightly sessions:
Young carers club runs fortnightly during term time and have offered 22 face to face clubs.
Zoom clubs take place mostly during the school holidays or if bad weather or similar means that in-person club needs to be cancelled. There have been 7 zoom clubs in the last year.
Young adults’ carers group runs fortnightly throughout the year, with no breaks for school holidays – they have offered 25 face to face sessions over the year.
Trips mostly take place during the school holidays. In the last year there were 6 outings of this nature, sometimes these are purely for young carers but on occasion these can include young adult carers also (depending on the nature of the trip and the Terms and Conditions of the funding awarded). Young adult carers have had their own 2 additional trips this year.
Herefordshire council does not provide any specific funding for these groups.
4. Is there any additional provision in your area for Young Carers over school holidays - and if so, what? How much of this is fully or partially funded by the council?
Answer: Please see the above answer to question 3, zoom clubs are offered during school holidays in place of the face-to-face young carer clubs and trips are offered.
Online resources and what’s app group are available throughout the school holidays.
Young Adult carer’s club runs as normal throughout the school holidays.
Herefordshire council does not provide any specific funding for these groups.
