1. How many sick days were taken by staff (including heads, assistant heads and deputies, teachers and support staff) in schools for mental health conditions (including stress, depression, anxiety etc) in the following school years:

Response

1. How many sick days were taken by staff (including heads, assistant heads and deputies, teachers and support staff) in schools for mental health conditions (including stress, depression, anxiety etc) in the following school years:

2020/21: 2,224

2021/22: 1,917

2. What was the average number of days taken by those who took time off from schools for mental health conditions in the following school years:

2020/21: 27.8 days

2021/22: 13.04 days

In relation to the figures provided for questions 1 and 2, these are only as accurate as far as the information that has been shared with Herefordshire Council by the schools, and therefore, based on the assumption Herefordshire Council have been informed of the absence and that the description of absence has been provided correctly.
