I am writing to make a formal request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for information regarding the issuing of Blue Badges within your Council.
Specifically, I kindly request the following information:
* Number of Blue Badges currently held (as of the date of this email).
* Number of Blue Badge applications received since September 1st 2022.
* Number and percentage of successful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2022 - of these, the number and percentage of applications which were successful under the Hidden Disability criteria.
* Number and percentage of unsuccessful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2022 - of these, the number and percentage of applicants appealing the decision and the number and percentage of applicants who were successful in their appeal.

A: 9878
* Number of Blue Badge applications received since September 1st 2022.
A: 7904
* Number and percentage of successful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2022 - of these, the number and percentage of applications which were successful under the Hidden Disability criteria.
A: The Service Area have advised that they do not have full data as they did not track successful applications by application date until 18/09/2023.
Badges issued between 01/09/2022 - 06/06/2024 = 6842 (tracked by Issued Date, percentage not available)
Full data not available for Hidden Disability criteria. Information from 18/09/2023 - 06/06/2024 = 194 issued with Hidden Disability selected
* Number and percentage of unsuccessful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2022 - of these, the number and percentage of applicants appealing the decision and the number and percentage of applicants who were successful in their appeal.
A: The Service Area have advised that full data is not available as declined badges were not tracked by application date prior to 18/09/2023. Since 18/09/2023:
Applications declined = 313
Appeals received since 18/09/2023 = 15
Successful appeals since 18/09/2023 = 6 (40%)
