1. How many compulsory school age (5-15) children with an EHCP were without a school place for a period during the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22.

2. How many sixth-form age children (16-18) with an EHCP were without a school place for a period during the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22.

3. How much money has the council spent fighting tribunals with parents disputing the school listed in their EHCP in the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22.

4. How many parents successfully appealed against the school listed in their EHCP in the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22

5. How many parents unsuccessfully appealed against the school listed in their EHCP in the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22

6. How many withdrew their appeals against the school listed in their EHCP in the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22

1. How many compulsory school age (5-15) children with an EHCP were without a school place for a period during the financial year 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22.

                           

Answer: Data on the number of children with an EHCP who were waiting placement is reported as part of the DfE publication “Education, Health and Care Plans: England 2024”, a link to which is provided below:

To access data specifically concerning placement information, the user should:

  • Download all data (ZIP) from the reference web page

  • Within the zip file, the relevant CSV file is named “sen2_estab_caseload

  • The filtering option allows the user to select the relevant local authority and establishment type (in this case “Awaiting provision – compulsory school age”, “Awaiting provision – above compulsory school age”)
