Under the Freedom of Information Act (2000), I would be obliged if you would furnish me with the following information as it pertains to Parking Zone RB in Ross-On-Wye:
1) The total number of parking permits (both resident & visitor)currently issued for this zone.
2) The maximum number of permits that are considered to be available for this zone.
3) Hereford County Councils view of the total number of parking spaces available in this zone.
4) The policy and algorithm used in calculating how many parking permits should be made available in this zone, when taking into consideration that the zone is open to both residents and non-residents.
Response

1) The total number of parking permits (both resident & visitor)currently issued for this zone.
Answer: 60.
2) The maximum number of permits that are considered to be available for this zone.
Answer: Maximum 2 per property.
3) Hereford County Councils view of the total number of parking spaces available in this zone.
Answer:
Number of bays available (Approximately) within designated marked bays (Permit areas)
Alton Street – 4
Church Close – 8
Church Street – 23
Copse Cross Street – 0 (properties here are eligible for a permit to park within zone)
Old Maid’s Walk – 16
Old Gloucester Road - 11
Walford Road :The Toll Cottage - (property eligible for a permit to park within zone)
4) The policy and algorithm used in calculating how many parking permits should be made available in this zone, when taking into consideration that the zone is open to both residents and non-residents.
Answer: The service area has been unable to comment on methodology used at the time as the zone was created in 2005. We hold no reports on this calculation from the time.
