Under FOI please provide the following information relating to how the Council commissions social care via its Framework Providers, to address and service the adult social care services it is responsible for:
Q1. Regarding the current framework for providers:
a) How many framework providers does the Council have?
b) When is the current framework for providers due to end?
c) Does the Council have any plans to procure a replacement framework for providers to deliver adult social care services in:
i) 2024/2025, or;
ii) 2025/26?
Q2. How many service users (recipients of adult social care services funded by the Council) does the Council typically have at any one time during a year currently?

Under FOI please provide the following information relating to how the Council commissions social care via its Framework Providers, to address and service the adult social care services it is responsible for: Q1. Regarding the current framework for providers: a) How many framework providers does the Council have?
A: Domiciliary Care
Primary Framework – 12 providers |
Secondary Framework – 9 providers |
Supported living and community activities framework
Supported living – 27 providers |
Community – 13 providers |
Care homes
The Council currently contracts with 85 providers within Herefordshire and 70 providers outside of Herefordshire.
b) When is the current framework for providers due to end?
A: Domiciliary care: October 2026
Care homes: September 2026
Supported living and community activities: August 2028
c) Does the Council have any plans to procure a replacement framework for providers to deliver adult social care services in: i) 2024/2025,
A: Not in Living Well (18-64yrs commissioning) nor Ageing Well (65yrs+ commissioning)
or; ii) 2025/26?
A: The Council will be undertaking a service review of the existing contractual arrangements of the provision of both care homes and domiciliary care prior to the expiry of the existing frameworks detailed in 1b.
The supported living and community activities framework went live on 1 September 2024, market and contract management processes therefore apply.
Q2. How many service users (recipients of adult social care services funded by the Council) does the Council typically have at any one time during a year currently?
