Response
1. Any policies or guidance governing the use of staff aliases, alternative names, or system identifiers in Environmental Health or regulatory correspondence.
Answer: This information is not held. Environmental Health work does not require officers to work under Alias names. Officers use their legal names and can use ‘previous legal names’ if requested e.g. Maiden names.
2. Records explaining the purpose and governance controls for such identifiers.
Answer: With regards to identifying legal names the governance controls are in documents attached named:
Evidence of right to work in UK and personal identity
Proof of personal identity guidance
3. Any internal reviews or audits concerning the use of aliases in official correspondence (if held).
Answer: This is not applicable - Environmental Health work does not require officers to work under alias names.
To clarify, the request relates to policies, guidance, audits or reviews in force or relied upon during the period 2024–2025.
If any such policy or guidance was introduced earlier but remained operative during that period, please include the version applicable in 2024–2025.
