Q1. Yes - underspend.
Q2. The overall underspend on early years in 2020/21 is £157,000. However, a government grant of £241,539 was received for COVID support to maintain payments to early years settings at the same level as the previous year. Without the COVID grant there would have been an overspend of £84,539, split between £37,875 overspend on two-year olds and £46,664 overspend on three and four-year olds.
No action was taken regarding the underspend, it was transferred to general Designated Schools Grant (DSG) reserves.
