I would like to know how much money, if any has been recovered using bailiffs (debt collection agencies) in 2021, 2022 and 2023, broken down to the amount by year, for the following debts:

Council Tax arrears

Parking penalty charges

Housing Benefit over payments

I would also like to see the policy documents regarding the use of bailiffs and the details of any complaints lodged against the use of bailiffs by the council.

Council Tax arrears

2020/2021 - £1,117,815.32

2021/2022 - £505,066.82

2022/2023 - £62,190.60

Parking penalty charges

2020/2021 - £64,229.18

2021/2022 - £56,933.65

2022/2023 - £61,116.46

Housing Benefit over payments

2020/2021 - 0

2021/2022 - £135.40

2022/2023 - £8,249.98

I would also like to see the policy documents regarding the use of bailiffs and the details of any complaints lodged against the use of bailiffs by the council.

Regarding the issue of complaints over the last 3 years there were 5 complaints of which 4 were related to Enforcement agents and one was for policy. A copy of Herefordshire Council's Debt Recovery Policy is attached.
