Please can you provide me with the following information under the Freedom Of Information Act 2000:- From the business rates department only please Please advise which social housing providers and charities currently operate within the local authority, please provide a list by excel. Please provide a list of social housing providers and charities that are currently have been awarded mandatory and or discretionary relief within the local authority.
Response
A: This information is not held. This is because unless there is a specific reason, we won't necessarily know the nature of all businesses on the database. For the purposes of Business Rates administration we don't always need to know the nature of the business so if the name is unclear (ie: it's not XXX Housing Association) we may not know. The same applies to charities.
