Request

Can you answer the following questions on local authority run nurseries? I know they can be called different things in different places so I have tried to account for that below.

1 a) How many local authority run day nurseries providing Government funded childcare hours entitlements do you have open currently (as of 21/10/24)?

b)How many are you intending to close in the next 24 months?

c) How many are you planning on privatising in the next 24 months?

d) How many are you planning to reduce staffing at and or reduce childcare places at in the next 24 months?

e) How many are under review/ are you considering the future of?

2. a) How many Sure Start children's centres run by the council providing Government funded childcare hours entitlements do you have open currently (as of 21/10/24)?

4 All of the above

5 How many school-based providers have expressed interested in extending their lower age range to include younger children following the expansion of free hours?
