Response
1. How many electric charge points does this council currently own and operate?
A: Herefordshire Council does not own and operate any charge points, however we do have a contract with Wenea for the provision of charge points in council car parks. The total number of charge points under this contract is currently 12, providing 24 charging sockets, with additional charge points expected to be installed during the current financial year.
2. Are all the charge points compliant with the 2023 Public Charge Point Regulations? If not all, then how many?
A: Currently all of the charge points comply with the elements of the regulations relating to roaming, helpline provision, reliability and pricing metric. There are 2 units which still require contactless provision, and full OCPI compliance is outstanding.
3. What steps have been taken by the council to ensure compliance with the 2023 Public Charge Point Regulations?
A: The council is monitoring compliance and has been assured by the contractor that all requirements will be met by the November 2024 deadline.
4. Has this council experienced any challenges when working to comply with the 2023 Public Charge Point Regulations?
A: The contractor has reported some difficulties with the requirement to make OCPI data publically available but is confident they can comply by the November deadline.
