Could you please provide details of how the Household Support Fund was administered for 2021/2022 at Herefordshire Council, including (if available):

Q1. The breakdown of the proposed and/or actual spend of the Government allocation of the Household Support Fund.

Q2. Any eligibility criteria for allocations made using Household Support Funds.

Q3. Any application forms for allocations made using Household Support Funds.

Q4. Any internal reports or policies concerning the use of the Household Support Fund.

Q5. It may be the case that you have not yet developed a policy for the Household Support Fund. However, if this is the case, could you please provide: Details of your plans for administering the Household Support Fund Extension.

Response

A1. Herefordshire Council spent the full allocation of £1,329,602, as follows;

£68,700 (1,145 @ £60 grants) was paid to Household Support Grant applicants.

£1,260,902 was used to provide local supermarket vouchers to support households with meals during October half term, Christmas break, February half term and Easter break.

A2. To qualify for the £60 Household Support Grant you had to be in receipt of universal credit below the Free School Meal and/or Free Prescription thresholds.

Local supermarket vouchers were provided to families in receipt of free of school meals.

A3. There was an online application process for £60 Household Support Grant. Attached is a copy of the application form.

A5. Following the Chancellor's Spring Statement, details will be made available on our website and through social media channels once a decision on how to use the latest funds allocated to Herefordshire has been made
