Response

Please provide:

A copy of your "Light touch (over the telephone) Care Needs Assessment (LTottCNA)" Policy and procedure.

The Service Area have confirmed that we do not have a Light Touch policy or procedure. We have the Care Act Strengths Based Assessment and it is the same form regardless of how it is carried out.

Can you please confirm how your LTottCNA conforms with the Care Act wellbeing Duty and the Public Sector Equality Duty?

N/A

Can you confirm if a member of the Public can email a request for a Care Needs Assessment?

The Service Area have confirmed that members of the public can still send an email into Adult and Referral Team (ART).

This is taken from our website:

How to contact adult social care

Advice and referral team - your first point of contact

For initial contacts, help and support in accessing adult social care and to arrange care and carer assessments and financial assessments:

Telephone: 01432 260101

Email: ASCAdviceandReferralTeam@herefordshire.gov.uk

We manage all new referrals and will forward them, where appropriate, to the localities teams based in Hereford city, Ross-on-Wye, Leominster or Ledbury who will then contact the requester.

Can you confirm if a member of the Public can be Forced against their will to telephone in and undergo a LTottCNA?

We would never force anyone to undergo a telephone assessment if this was not what they wanted. By default our assessments are carried out face to face where possible.
