Case reference FOI2022/00057

Published 8 February 2022

Request

Please can you provide all information for the financial year 2020-21, and from the start of financial year 2021 to 31 December 2021, for the following: 1. How many trees have you planted? 2. How many trees have you removed/cut down/destroyed?

Response

For year 2020/21

How many trees have you planted?

A. 52

How many trees have you removed/cut down/destroyed?

A. 62 but we hold no breakdown of which category they are in (felled, diseased etc)

For year 2021 till end December 2021

How many trees have you planted?

A. 16

How many trees have you removed/cut down/destroyed?

A. 24 due to disease.

Please note: I have been advised a large number of both private and council owned trees were attended following severe weather, storms i.e. High Winds due to falling branches, falling trees, etc. The data held in our systems does not differentiate between trees that have been felled or had boughs removed during emergency call outs. The 24 trees listed above as removed are council owned, but we cannot identify whether tree works carried out across the network during emergency calls outs are privately or Council owned. So we are unable to provide any clearer information for this request.
