FOI2026/01950 Follow-Up Request:
The response confirms that the HomePoint housing register records immigration status, settled status, pre-settled status and refugee status.
I would therefore like to make a further Freedom of Information request concerning the same housing allocations. For each of the financial years 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26, please provide the number of households allocated social or affordable rented accommodation through Herefordshire HomePoint, broken down by each immigration-status category recorded within the HomePoint system for the lead applicant. Rather than limiting the request to immigration-status categories specified by me, please use the categories/values actually recorded within the HomePoint system and provide the number of successful allocations associated with each category for each financial year. In addition, please provide separately, for each of those financial years, the number of successful allocations where the lead applicant was recorded as having:
• settled status;
• pre-settled status;
and • refugee status.
If any of those categories overlap with the immigration-status breakdown requested above, please identify this rather than counting them as mutually exclusive categories. Where a category contains a sufficiently small number that disclosure could identify an individual, I am content for the figure to be shown as “<5” or otherwise appropriately suppressed rather than withholding the remainder of the dataset.
I would prefer the information electronically in Excel or CSV format.
CLARIFICATION: Thanks for coming back to me. By that sentence, I simply mean that I appreciate some of the recorded fields/statuses may not be mutually exclusive. For example, an applicant recorded as having refugee status may also have an entry under a broader immigration-status field. I am not asking the Council to create new categories or undertake any analysis that it does not already hold. Please provide the recorded figures for each of the requested immigration/status categories as held on the system. Where the same applicant may legitimately appear within more than one category, please just make that clear so that the figures are not interpreted as representing separate individuals. If the categories are in fact mutually exclusive within the HomePoint system, then the sentence can simply be disregarded and the figures can be provided on that basis.
Response
Please see the attached spreadsheet.
Please note that at the beginning of November 2024 Herefordshire Council changed the data management system it used for the processing and management of homelessness applications and applications to its housing register (Home Point). All data held before November 2024 is archived and as a result the depth of analysis and reports we can run is limited. As such we are unable to run a report that provides the above requested breakdown for the period 01/04/22 to 01/11/24.
The attached covers the periods from 01/11/24 – 30/09/26.
We are aware that some of the figures for 2025/26 differ to those previously provided in response to FOI 2026 / 01950. Officers have double-checked the data and cannot account for the discrepancy, however, have confirmed that the attached figures are correct.
