Hedge cutting & Maintenance for play parks

Case reference FOI2025/02279

Received 19 November 2025

Request

1) I would like to know the exact amount of money Herefordshire Council spent in the last financial year on Running, maintaining, grass/hedge cutting and purchasing new equipment for childrens play parks in the county. If possible i would like a breakdown of what they spent on each park rather than a whole but appreciate this might not be possible. If i could also know how many parks the Council are responsible for as well please.

2) I would also like to know if Charities are able to apply for S106 funds or is it only Council funded places. If you arent able to answer this are you able to point me in the direction of who i need to speak to.

Answer: Total cost in 24/25 for the above-mentioned items was £94,123.56. Please note, the service area  cannot provide a breakdown of the cost per park.

Answer: This will depend on what infrastructure the charity is proposing to deliver with section 106 monies. The service area has stated they would need more detail on the charity and what they want to deliver to ascertain if section 106 monies can be used to deliver it. Please contact S106@herefordshire.gov.uk for further information.
