1. In the 2023 calendar year could you please state how many complaints about noise issues were recorded by your environmental health/noise complaints department?
2. In relation to the complaints in 2023 calendar year how many of these related to complaints about:
(i) Barking dogs,
(ii) Chickens and cockerels, and
(iii) Sexual noise.
3. If you had any complaints that related to (iii) sexual noise please state:
(a) a summary of the nature of the complaint and
(b) what you as the local authority did as a result of the complaint.
Response
1. In the 2023 calendar year could you please state how many complaints about noise issues were recorded by your environmental health/noise complaints department?
653 noise complaints received.
2. In relation to the complaints in 2023 calendar year how many of these related to complaints about:
(i) Barking dogs,
172 barking dog complaints received.
(ii) Chickens and cockerels, and
6 Chickens and cockerel complaints received.
(iii) Sexual noise.
There is no record of sexual noise complaints made in 2023. We do not have a specific category for this type of noise issue, for this enquiry a search of the generic 'people noise' category has been made and no reference to sexual noise has been reported in complaints reported under this category.
3. If you had any complaints that related to (iii) sexual noise please state:
(a) a summary of the nature of the complaint and
(b) what you as the local authority did as a result of the complaint.
