Response

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, I would be grateful if you could provide me with the following information:

1. How many streetlights were reported as faulty in the calendar year 2023?

A) 361

2. What was the average amount of time taken between the reporting of a fault with a streetlight and its resolution in the calendar year 2023?

A) The timescale to attend a fault from reporting to attending is 2-5 days. This is always met as a first response to resolve. However, this may not always solve the issue as there may be reasons beyond our control, for example, if we attend and find a "no supply" fault, we pass that information on to the National Grid who have a different time scale to attend to resolve, but in the meantime the luminaire is still out of light. Another example is there may be a particular item needed for repair/ replacement that is not always kept in stock so that would need to be ordered. We do not keep a record that data.

3. What was the longest delay between the reporting of a streetlight problem and its resolution in the calendar year 2023?

A) Please see the response for Q.2 above.

4. What was the most recent estimate of the number of streetlights in your area that are currently not functioning or partly functioning?

A) We have 1x "no supply" issue outstanding, which has been passed to the National Grid. We are not aware of any other issues until we are notified by a member of public/police or BBLP staff. We no longer have a night scout that would have picked up potential issues.
