Published 14 April 2022

Request

Please advise:

Q1. How much money your local authority has spent repairing potholes in the financial year 2021/22.

Q2. Have you made any use of a JCB PotholePro vehicle for your repairs or do you have plans to do so?

Q3. If you have made use of a JCB PotholePro vehicle, or have plans to do so, please advise what savings (if any) have been achieved, or you expect to achieve.

Response

A1. See attached spreadsheet, for defect repairs under Annex 10 including the spray injection pothole repairs, for FY 21/22

A2. So far, we have only trialed a JCB PotholePro in the last year to begin to assess potential effectiveness and efficiency savings for highways maintenance as we are keen to make use of innovative technology on the market

A3. As we have not used a Pothole Pro vehicles for our maintenance programme we cannot provide savings figures, although we believe the technology is efficient likely to support improvements in highways maintenance and H&S working practices also.
