The recently published report on the Strategic Outline Business Case for the Eastern River Crossing and Link Road identified the cost for the scheme to be up to £198.3m, based on construction in 2031/32. The report is available on Herefordshire Council's website via the following link:
In response to a question from a member of the public at the Council meeting on 8th December 2023, the estimated cost of the Southern Link Road was put at £35m based on a construction start date of 2027. This is also available on Herefordshire Council's website via the following link:
Please note, a report entitled "New Road Strategy for Hereford" is expected to be considered by Cabinet at its meeting on 22nd February. We are still working to verify a set of revised estimates for the road schemes that will form a part of that report. Cost estimates are very sensitive to, and dependent on, the anticipated year of construction. Details of this report will be published shortly on Herefordshire Council's website:
