Case reference FOI2022/00336

Published 29 April 2022

Request

Q1. What has Herefordshire council spent the funds from phase 2 of the Active travel fund on?

Q2. What was the cost of the: Pop-up cycle lanes Station Approach (south side) / Ledbury Road (west side) / Commercial Road

Q3. How much has the council spent on repairing/making improvements to cycle paths (including shared-use cycle and pedestrian paths). If possible, a sum for each section as well as the date for the past 3 years.

Response

Q1. Other than initial feasibility work, Herefordshire Council has not yet spent any of the funds from phase 2 of the Active Travel Fund. We are currently in discussion with the funders regarding extending the funding so we can deliver an extended scheme to that originally proposed.

Q2.

Station Approach (south side) - £200 (estimated as part of wider signage costs of the Emergency Active Travel Measures).

Ledbury Road (west side) - £1500 (estimated as part of the wider lining costs of the Emergency Active Travel Measures)

Commercial Road - £5206.92 (includes removal costs)

Q3. The Service Area have advised that in relation to capital spend on cycle signs and lining or surface repairs, these are done as part of maintenance schemes and our financial systems do not breakdown spend on those activities to the level of detail required to extract those figures.

However, please see attached a list of cycle specific improvement schemes.

Please also find attached the breakdown of cycle infrastructure over the last 3 years, which includes development work where appropriate. Some figures are estimates as they are part of a wider scheme
