Request

Where the extra £13•5 million being spent on the highways indastructure is actually coming from? as a Councillor has stated its not from central goverment but being borrowed?

Under the Freedom of information act I want to know where exactly this money is being borrowed from and how you intend to pay it back without it costing the taxpayer.

A: The additional £13.5m added to the capital programme on 7th February 2025 at full council was approved as borrowing from the Public Works Loan Board.

The cost of borrowing will be £675k per annum from 2026/27 and funded from the revenue budget.
