Please provide the total annual cost to the authority of its designated Section 151 Officer (Chief Finance Officer) for the 2026/27 financial year, including, where applicable, salary, employer pension contributions, employer National Insurance contributions, agency fees, consultancy fees, recruitment costs, market supplements, retention payments, and any other costs directly associated with the post.

Please confirm whether the post is permanent, interim, seconded, consultancy-based, or supplied through an agency.

A: Local Government pay award has not yet been confirmed for 2026/27 but information relating to the 2025/26 costs can be found within the 2025/26 Statement of Accounts at Note 16.2 – senior employee remuneration (page 45): Draft Financial Statements 2025-26 In addition, the Council has published it’s 2026 Pay Policy which reports how much it pays senior officers (see pages 3 & 9):  Appendix A for Pay Policy Statement 2026-27.pdf

As such we consider this information to be exempt under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 because it is reasonably accessible to you via other means. Please take this letter as a refusal notice under S17 of the Act.

There are no agency fees, consultancy fees, recruitment costs, market supplements, retention payments, and any other costs directly associated with the post to report.
