Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Please provide the following recorded information regarding council tax liability orders:
1. Do Herefordshire Council use any computer software systems to generate or process liability orders?
2. If yes, please state: a) The name of the software provider b) The name and version of the software currently in use
3. Is this same software system used by other local authorities (to your knowledge)?
4. Is the system used by the Council directly linked or integrated with any court systems (including HMCTS) for the transmission or receipt of liability order data?
5. Following the granting of a liability order, does the Council have the ability to amend or alter the amount recorded as payable? * If so, please provide any recorded policy or procedure governing this.
6. When the Council provides a copy of a liability order to a taxpayer, is this: a) A copy of the order held by the court, or b) A document generated by the Council’s internal system?
7. Does the Council consider the liability order document it provides to taxpayers to be a court-issued document?

A: No – liability orders are issued by the Court
2. If yes, please state: a) The name of the software provider b) The name and version of the software currently in use

A: N/A

A: N/A

A: No

A: There is no copy liability order – it is pronounced in Court and endorsed on a list.
7. Does the Council consider the liability order document it provides to taxpayers to be a court-issued document?
A: No
