Case reference FOI2025/02222

Request

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request a copy of the new lease for Edgar Street Stadium, as agreed by Cabinet on 5 July 2024 and finalised in the decision of 27 October 2025.

Please include the full lease document and any attached schedules, appendices or related agreements that form part of the contractual arrangement between the council and the football club.

The Edgar Street Stadium is a publicly owned community asset, and there is a clear public interest in transparency over the terms under which it is leased. I note that certain details, such as the annual rent, have already been referenced in the public domain. As such, I would not expect exemptions on the grounds of commercial sensitivity to apply to information that is already publicly known or which relates to the management of public assets.

If any information is withheld or redacted, please specify the exact exemption relied upon and provide sufficient context to explain both why it has been applied and what type of information has been removed (for example, names of individuals, commercially confidential figures, etc).
