I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I am conducting academic research into how noise enforcement relating to pubs (public houses) has changed between the pre‑COVID period and the post‑COVID period. I would be grateful if you could provide the following information for your local authority area. For each of the two periods:
1 January 2018 – 31 December 2019 1 January 2022 – 31 December 2023 Please provide:
* The number of noise complaints received where the subject of the complaint was a pub.
* The number of abatement notices served on pubs under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 in relation to noise.
* The number of licensing reviews initiated in relation to pubs where noise was a contributing factor.
* The number of Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs) issued to pubs in relation to noise (please provide separately).
* Number of full‑time equivalent officers responsible for noise or environmental protection enforcement If possible, please provide the data in a table format. If any part of this request is unclear or likely to exceed the cost limit, please let me know as I am happy to refine the request.
