Published 22 May 2024

Request

I am seeking information on the erection of road signage for 'Caplor Glampling & Lodges' on the B4224.

My main questions are:

- How much did this cost and was the cost covered by the business/privately or Herefordshire Council?

- Do they have a street furniture permit and installed under this permit?

- How long from the request for signage to installation?

Response

I am seeking information on the erection of road signage for 'Caplor Glampling & Lodges' on the B4224.

My main questions are:

- How much did this cost and was the cost covered by the business/privately or Herefordshire Council?

A) The Service Area have advised all costs were met in full by the business and included an application fee of £165.00 and the separate lump sum cost of £1,712.15.

- Do they have a street furniture permit and installed under this permit?

A) Please find below the application process link for Herefordshire council in relation to Brown Tourist signs. Each application is reviewed in line with the process and the Service Area have advised a street furniture permit for the road signage is not a requirement within the process:

Apply for a brown tourist sign - Herefordshire Council

- How long from the request for signage to installation?

A) The original request was made on 7th Feb 2022. The request for the works was on the 22nd June 2022. The works were completed in April 2024. The reason for the extended time period was due to ongoing discussions regarding the scheme in the intervening period and there would have been discussions over matters such as the locations of signs, wording, etc.
