May you please supply me with the following information:
1) The number of children transported from home to their educational settings in transportation paid for by the local authority.
Please provide the numbers per financial year for the following years: 2022/3, 2023/4 and 2024/5 For example: in 2023/4 , 150 under 16s were transported to school in taxis paid for by the council.
2) How many of these individuals were assessed as having special educational needs and/ or disabilities?
Please provide the numbers per financial year for the following years: 2022/3, 2023/4 and 2024/5 For example: in 2023/4 , 150 under 16s were transported to school in taxis paid for by the council. 50 of these individuals were assessed as having SEND.
3) The amount spent on transporting children from their home to their educational settings.
Please provide the numbers per financial year for the following years: 2022/3, 2023/4 and 2024/5 For example: in 2023/4 , 150 under 16s were transported to school in taxis paid for by the council. 50 of these children were assessed as having SEND. The total cost of this was £14,000.

Answer:
In 2022/23, 81 under 16s were transported to school in taxis and 166 under 16s were transported to school via other means (public bus, minibus and rail), paid for by the council.
In 2023/24, 103 under 16s were transported to school in taxis and 247 under 16s were transported to school via other means (public bus, minibus and rail), paid for by the council.
In 2024/25, 170 under 16s were transported to school in taxis and 431 under 16s were transported to school via other means (public bus, minibus and rail), paid for by the council.
2) How many of these individuals were assessed as having special educational needs and/ or disabilities?

In 2023/24, 103 under 16s were transported to school in taxis and 247 under 16s were transported to school via other means (public bus, minibus and rail), paid for by the council. 125 of these individuals were assessed as having SEND. The total cost of all transport was £7,742,081.
In 2024/25, 170 under 16s were transported to school in taxis and 431 under 16s were transported to school via other means (public bus, minibus and rail), paid for by the council. 130 of these individuals were assessed as having SEND. The total cost of all transport was £10,220,222.
