1. Please state how many physical assaults were recorded by you on people employed by the council as traffic wardens – otherwise known as Civil Enforcement Officers – in (a) 2024/25 and (b) 2025/26
Answer: a) 2024/25 = 3

2. Please give a brief description of the circumstances of each recorded incident.
Answer: Please see the following:
· While issuing a parking notice, the driver became aggressive, snatched the notice and pushed it into the officer's chest/rib area.
· Following issue of a parking notice, a vehicle owner verbally abused the officer, later approached the council vehicle and threw the notice into it before leaving.
· A driver challenged a parking notice, became aggressive, pushed the officer, grabbed at their body camera and vest, and prevented them from leaving the area.
· After receiving a parking notice, a vehicle occupant became confrontational and another occupant attempted to grab the officer's arm.
· Following a parking notice dispute, a vehicle occupant became aggressive and grabbed towards an officer.
· A person confronted an officer about parking notices issued to vehicles, attempted to interfere with enforcement activity and later behaved aggressively towards another member of the public.
· Following issue of a parking notice, a vehicle was driven at speed towards a group that included the officer.
· A vehicle owner struck an officer on the back with a parking notice before leaving the scene.
· A driver returned while a parking notice was being issued, forcefully thrust the notice into the officer's arm and then drove away.
