Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide me with the following information regarding potholes within your local authority area.

To assist with your search and ensure data is easily comparable, please provide data for the last three financial years: 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/2026.

1) What was the total number of individual potholes reported to the council by members of the public during each financial year?

2) How much did the council spend in total on repairing/filling potholes during each financial year?

2a) Of the total spend identified in Question 2, how much was spent specifically on temporary patches (this might be referred to as 'make safe' or temporary repairs)?

3. What was the total monetary value the council paid out in successful compensation claims for vehicle damage or personal injury caused by potholes during each financial year?

Please be advised, Herefordshire Council does not hold information for personal injury claims for the dates requested. Prior to 1st June 2026, Balfour Beatty Living Places (BBLP) was contracted to deliver Public Realm services, including highway maintenance. Any claims submitted during that period would have been investigated and handled directly by BBLP.
