  1. I see you have announced your June list of resurfacing targets and would like to know the following information:

    - On what criteria are resurfacing decisions made?

    - Can you supply the list of candidate roads and how they scored against the criteria

    - including both those that made the list in June and those that didn’t.

    - In particular can you supply details on where the B4222 from Aston Crews to Lea is on the list. (I note in previous correspondence the council confirmed it was a ‘road at risk’ and in need of resurfacing).

    4) Optional open box question to council officers:

As part of the NRLA campaign work on local government, we want to explore what local authorities would like to be included as mandatory requirements of data (such as gas safety certificate, previous enforcement notices against the property for example) in the PRS database proposed under the Renters Rights Bill.

Therefore, we want to hear from council officers directly on what they want to see as mandatory data to be captured as part of a future PRS database.

  6. I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information.

I am writing to inquire whether you are fully compliant with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010, particularly in light of the recent Supreme Court ruling in For Women Scotland v. Scottish Government (UKSC16).

As you will be aware, the Supreme Court has ruled that the legal definition of woman, within the Equality Act, is based on biological sex. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) interim guidance confirmed that if facilities are provided for women these facilities are reserved for biological women.

I would be grateful if you could provide the following information.

    1.      Previous or Current Service Delivery:

Please provide copies of any policies, guidelines, internal memos or external communications that set out the Council’s approach to allowing males who identify as women (either with or without a GRC) to use spaces or services designated as for women. These services can either be commissioned or provided directly by the Council.

    2.      Policies:

Provide a list of all policies and practices that are under review to ensure they align with the Supreme Court’s clarification of the Equality Act 2010 following the For Women Scotland ruling. If no policies are currently under review has there been a decision about when this work will be undertaken?

    3.      Equality Impact Assessments:

Provide a list and copies of all Equality Impact Assessments that are under review to ensure they are in line with the Equality Act 2010, particularly with regard to policies that affect women and sex-based rights.

    4.      Monitoring and Compliance:

What measures are in place to ensure that, going forward, women’s rights are not compromised under any of the Council’s policies once existing policies have been updated to reflect the ruling of the Supreme Court?

  7. Could you expand on the information requested regarding the 14 large planters going into primary schools.

To move them would require a large forklift and commercial transport as the ones used to move these planters reference the mayfair. So how much is this cost going to be and what schools will be receiving them? To put them into playgrounds will not only incur a substantial cost but deprive children of valuable play areas besides the cost of plants and soil etc along with who will be the person to water them?

    1. I request a copy of the tree surgeon’s report referred to in the Council minutes of May 21st and June 18th 2024

    2. I request copies of all quotations submitted for making the ash trees ‘safe’ and copies of any minutes recorded (but not available on the website) that show subsequent discussion of the work to the ash trees in the months from July to November 2024.
