Published 9 February 2022
Request
Proposed parking charges at Kington. HT report Hereford Council would lose £33,500 p.a. if you 'gave' the car parks to the Town to replace 'lost revenue'.
How is that figure arrived at? Please provide, under Freedom of Information, your methodology and past 5 years measurements and the calculations to support this.
What independent expertise has verified this 'loss'?
How much will the cost be of planning, providing, installing, maintaining, dealing with accidental damage, malicious damage insurance/provision, policing, enforcement, collection, overseeing etc?
Response
1. How is that figure arrived at? Please provide, under Freedom of Information, your methodology and past 5 years measurements and the calculations to support this.
Please see the attached. Please note that we do not have 5 years' worth of data because the car parks are currently free, so we do not know what the use is. We have estimated use based on a chargeable car park in the town where we do hold data.
2. What independent expertise has verified this 'loss'?
The attached has not been independently verified.
3. How much will the cost be of planning, providing, installing, maintaining, dealing with accidental damage, malicious damage insurance/provision, policing, enforcement, collection, overseeing etc.?
Costs are included on the attached.
